We had an eventful New Year's Eve this year...probably because I
actually had the day off, and didn't have to be to work at 5AM the next
morning like in years past! We went shooting in the morning as is
becoming a New Year's tradition. We had lots of different guns this
year and as is evident by the picture, my dad had to catch me multiple
times to prevent the kick on one of his shotguns from knocking me
backwards.
Later that night we went to see the Christmas lights at the Ethel M. cactus gardens...a week late, I know, but it is still technically the holiday season until after New Year's Day. The lights were gorgeous and Tylee was fascinated by them. If you ask Devan about his experience, he would say, "freezing."
We ended the night with a New Year's Eve party at my parents roasting hot dogs and making S'mores over a fire, hot tubbing, playing board games, and toasting in the New Year with some sparkling cider. All the usual gang was there...Weston and Chelsea were there too, but they had to leave before midnight because Chelsea had to work the next day. My parents are always so wonderful to let us crash their house.
Neither Devan or I are really big fans of the whole idea of New Years, but it is a reason to have a party...and we like to party! Happy end of 2012 and hello 2013!
