Disneyland...Again

We just can't get enough of this place! This trip was actually pretty random. Bruce and Lindsey were planning just a day trip last minute and asked if we wanted to go. Of course! It was actually a little longer than a day. We went down on a Tuesday night after work and stayed with some of Lindsey's friends. We then spent the whole day Wednesday at the parks and drove home that night at 9:30 after the they closed. Devan says he will never do that again :)

So, to start things off we bought a couple pizzas to eat in the car on the way there. Bruce made one of the most amazing mix CDs ever for the trip so we rocked out hard core. Some included songs were Powerline from the Goofy Movie, Like a G6, Rock Show, Accidentally in Love, and etc.

Pretty much as soon as we got to Cali we crashed. The next morning we went and picked up our tickets...Craigslist all the way...and grabbed some Mickey D's. I have to say, the fruit and yogurt salad is not what you would expect from that place. Delish! We got to the park right as it was opening and as evidenced, were super excited!

Pirates was first as is the Wyson tradition. There was absolutely NOBODY in the park! Even less people than when we went while it was raining. And the weather was absolutely gorgeous! In the afternoon it even got kinda hot...in January! After getting off Pirates we went and picked up our first of many churros that day. These are one of the main reasons I go to Disneyland.

Next on the list was Splash Mountain. I of course sat in the front, like always, and got drenched. We hit all the classics like Space Mountain, and even convinced to boys to go on Pinnochio and Peter Pan, Lindsey's and my childhood favorites respectively.

Next up, California Adventure. I love this theme park. We rode Soarin' over California, Tower of Terror, Silly Symphony Swings, and Screamin' California, and one of Dev's new favorites, Toy Story. We then headed over to that workshop place by Tower of Terror...don't know what it's called...and played in there for about an hour. We went down to the Sorceror's Workshop and made some awesome animations. Dev and I worked on one together. My part was a growing flower, and his was a flying airplane that dropped a bomb on the flower and blew it up. It actually turned out really cool. Bruce and Lindsey drew a dancing man. We then went to the section where you can do the voice overs for movie clips. Dev and Bruce did Beauty and the Beast and it was hilarious! Dev had never done any of the stuff in there, so that was kind of a fun break from the rides.

After some lunch and ice cream, we went on Toy Story one more time because it is that amazing, and then we spent some time on the little pier and took some really cool pictures with the sun and roller coaster in the background. This is just one of many in our little photo shoot. It was so easy to get all the pictures because absolutely nobody was around us to get in the way. Like I said, empty!

We then headed back over to Disneyland for Thunder Mountain Railroad and some second time rides. Lindsey and I got some pickles and the boys chose to show off their manly ways be chowing down on the massive turkey legs.

We ended the night in California Adventure with about 5 more rides of Tower of Terror. That is our all time favorite ride there. Each time we had a different themed photo. Due to a recent inside joke, this one is our "Raise the Roof" photo which turned out pretty awesome if I do say so myself.

For our big finale we stayed in California Adventure after all the rides closed to watch their new water show World of Color. It was pretty cool. The water show is of course no match for the Bellagio fountians, but the music and the movie scenes and some of the special effects were really cool. The had flame throwers! How could it not be awesome! We snapped some quick photos in front of the ferris wheel all lit up before we called it a night.

Dev and Bruce had the challenge of driving home right after this. Notice Lindsey and I asleep in the back seat. Apparently they had to get pretty creative to keep each other awake, but we made it home safely at 2:30 am. Just enough time to get a few hours of sleep and go to work.

We don't plan on another Disneyland trip for awhile, and this was the perfect trip to end our streak. Thank you Bruce and Lindsey for the invite and the awesome time!
